biliyorsunuz. Titreşimler, ses kaynağıyla temas hâlinde olan katı, sıvı ya da
gaz or­tamların taneciklerinin de titreşmesine ne­den olur. Bu durumu, yandaki
şekil üzerin­de inceleyiniz. Saat çalmaya başladığında saati oluşturan
tanecikler titreşir. Saat tit­reştiğinde etrafındaki hava taneciklerine çarpıp
onları da titreştirir. Titreşen hava tanecikleri ses dalgalarını oluşturur.
Ses, maddesel ortamlarda dalgalar hâlinde her yöne yayılır. Ses, her yönde
yayılmasını sürdürürken karşılaştığı maddelerle etkileşir. Bu etkile­şimlerden
biri, bu maddelerin sesi geçirmesi yani iletmesidir.

Sesin
katı, sıvı ve gaz ortamlarda yayıl­dığını hatırlayınız. Sesin yayılması, bu or­tamların
sesi geçirmesi yani sesi iletmesi anlamına gelir. Çevrenizde işittiğiniz ses­ler
genellikle bir gaz, ortam olan havada iletilerek kulağınıza ulaşır. Sesin
iletilme­sinde maddesel ortamı oluşturan tanecik­lerin birbirine olan
uzaklıkları etkilidir. Ka­tilarda tanecikler birbirine daha yakın ve
düzenlidir. Bu nedenle katı maddeler sesi sıvı ve gazlardan daha iyi iletir.

Sıvı maddelerde tanecikler
düzensiz olup katı tanecikleri kadar birbirine yakın değildir. Gaz maddelerde
ise tanecikler bağımsız, aralarındaki uzaklık sıvılara göre fazla ve düzen-
sizdir.Bu durum da sıvıların sesi gazlara göre daha iyi iletmesine neden olur.
Maddesel olmayan ortamlarda ise ses iletilemez. Çünkü böyle ortamlarda sesi
iletecek tanecik yoktur. Acaba ses dalgaları maddesel ortamlarda iletilmesinin
dışında başka nasıl etkileşir?

1.    Derin
cam kabın tabanına pamuğu yerleştiriniz. Saati pamuğun üzerine bırakınız.

2.    Cam
kabın dışına kulağınızı dayayarak saatin “tik tak” seslerini dinleyiniz.

3.    Sesini
dinlemeye devam ederek saatten yavaş yavaş uzaklaşınız. Saatin sesini
işitemediğiniz uzaklıkta durunuz.

4.    Bir
arkadaşınız saplı ekranı cam kabın üzerinden size doğru eğik olarak tutsun. Bu
durumda saatin sesini işitip işi­temediğinizi gözlemleyiniz.

5.    Cam
kabın üzerinde tuttuğunuz saplı ekranın yer düz­lemi ile yaptığı açıyı
değiştirerek hangi durumda sesi daha iyi işitebildiğinizi tespit etmeye
çalışınız.
